{"id":30880,"date":"2018-05-02T10:56:23","date_gmt":"2018-05-02T08:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bg.uni.opole.pl\/import\/web-of-science\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T10:34:18","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T08:34:18","slug":"web-of-science","status":"publish","type":"import","link":"https:\/\/bg.uni.opole.pl\/en\/web-of-science\/","title":{"rendered":"Web of Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An interdisciplinary collection of abstract and citation databases from journals, books, conference proceedings, and patents.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mjl.clarivate.com\/\">Master Journal List<\/a> \u2013 lists of journals indexed in WoS databases.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.myendnoteweb.com\/\">EndNote Web<\/a> \u2013 a tool available on the WoS platform.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/click.endnote.com\/\">EndNote Click<\/a> \u2013 a tool for quick access to full texts.<\/p>\n<p>The national Web of Science (WoS) license includes a collection of databases produced by Clarivate, including citation indexes on the Web of Science platform, the Journal and Highly Cited Data package covering the Journal Citation Reports and Essential Science Indicators databases, as well as InCites Benchmarking &amp; Analytics. The AI tool \u2013 Web of Science Research Assistant \u2013 is not covered by the funding.<\/p>\n<p>The citation indexes are divided into two packages: Web of Science Core Collection and Web of Science Citation Connection. The WoS Core Collection package includes the following databases and time ranges:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) from 1945<\/li>\n<li>Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) from 1956<\/li>\n<li>Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI) from 1975<\/li>\n<li>Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI, including Science and Social Science &amp; Humanities) from 1990<\/li>\n<li>Book Citation Index (BKCI, including Science and Social Science &amp; Humanities) from 2010<\/li>\n<li>Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) from 2005<\/li>\n<li>Current Chemical Reactions (CCR) from 2010<\/li>\n<li>Index Chemicus (IC) from 2010<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\">.<\/p>\n<p>The WoS Citation Connection package includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Biosis Citation Index from 2010<\/li>\n<li>Data Citation Index (DCI) from 2010<\/li>\n<li>Derwent Innovation Index (DII) from 2010<\/li>\n<li>Current Contents Connect from 2010<\/li>\n<li>Zoological Records from 1864<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\">.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the following are available free of charge as part of the national license:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preprint Citation Index from 1991<\/li>\n<li>ProQuest Dissertation &amp; Thesis Citation Index<\/li>\n<li>SciELO Citation Index from 2002<\/li>\n<li>Korean Citation Index from 1980<\/li>\n<li>Grant Index from 1953<\/li>\n<li>MEDLINE from 1950<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\">.<\/p>\n<p>Journals indexed in databases on the WoS platform can be searched via the <a href=\"http:\/\/mjl.clarivate.com\/\">Master Journal List<\/a>, which includes more than 24,000 active journals from the Core Collection. The BKCI database includes more than 157,000 books, while the CPCI database includes more than 315,000 conferences. All citation indexes and other databases hosted on the WoS platform include approximately 257 million records, of which around 199 million records are available within the time ranges covered by the national license, including approximately 106 million records in the Core Collection, approximately 67 million additional records from Citation Connection, and approximately 26 million additional records from free databases (all data as of July 2025). <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myendnoteweb.com\/\">EndNote Web<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/click.endnote.com\/\">EndNote Click<\/a> (a tool for quick full-text access), as well as WoS Researchers Profiles ID, including a basic free version available after registration (the extended version may be ordered for testing or paid subscription), are also available on the WoS platform as a free supplement to the national license.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WoS Primary \u2013 <\/strong>a package of the three core indexes: SCIE, SSCI, and A&amp;HCI.<br \/>\n<strong>ESCI \u2013 <\/strong>an index of journal titles that do not yet meet the selection criteria for inclusion in the WoS Primary package.<br \/>\n<strong>WoS Core Collection \u2013 <\/strong>a package composed of the following indexes: SCIE, SSCI, A&amp;HCI, CPCI, ESCI, Books CI, and the additional free CCR and IC databases.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vls.icm.edu.pl\/zasady\/2017\/WoS\/wyciag_wos2017_2019_pl.pdf\">Rules for using the license (Polish)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myendnoteweb.com\/\">EndNote Web<\/a>\u00a0is also available on\u00a0the WoS platform.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clarivate.com\/webofsciencegroup\/support\/wos\/\">Video tutorials<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/webofscience.help.clarivate.com\/en-us\/Content\/home.htm\">Web of Science Help<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/clarivate.com\/webofsciencegroup\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/2021_04-New-WoSCC-QRG.pdf\">Web of Science Core Collection.
