Reaxys Academic Edition

Reaxys is a factographic chemical database published by Elsevier B.V. It contains information on organic, inorganic and organometallic chemistry and related sciences: chemical engineering and medical sciences. It focuses on criteria and parameters of various types of chemical reactions, detailed chemical procedures, plans of syntheses using the most effective methods, syntheses of new compounds, methods of identification of compounds and their physicochemical, bioactive and toxicological properties, etc.

Since 2018, the database has been providing access to the Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry (RMC) module. It is the world’s largest database of chemical bioactivity, currently containing over 33.5 million bioactivity data for over 6.5 million substances and over 20,000 unique pharmacological targets. RMC contains comprehensive pharmacokinetic data on efficacy, toxicity, safety and metabolic profiles.

A new feature in the Reaxys database, Reaxys AI Search (beta), is now available to all users. Reaxys AI Search enables natural language searches by interpreting the intent and context of queries, allowing you to go beyond traditional keyword matching. It handles longer queries, spelling variations, abbreviations, and synonyms. The search is based on Reaxys’s resources, searching the titles and abstracts of over 121 million documents, including 46 million patents, across all fields of chemistry. Note: Reaxys AI Search does not use generative AI or language models (LLMs), and does not create new content or use user data; it operates solely on data from the Reaxys database.
