Social Science Citation Index is an abstract and bibliometric database – citation index – in the field of social sciences. It contains information from over 2,474 social science journals of global importance. The database’s resources comprise about 50 disciplines.
After entering the Web of Science website, select advanced search and in the “Editions” drop-down menu, clear the “All” field and select the desired base, in this case: Social Science Citation Index.

The Social Science Citation Index is used for searching:
- bibliographies of scientific works by individuals or research teams,
- the content of professional journals,
- citations of scientific papers in articles contained in the database.
